On the Road

It has been a busy time for me as I continue my writing projects, give tours and presentations.

Yesterday, I led a First Bull Run/Manassas tour for the Harrisburg/Hershey Civil War Round Tables. Its been awhile since I led a tour there and I was pleased with the results.

That’s me in the red shirt with my back to you, carrying the bag on my hip. Special thanks to Steve Smith of the Harrisburg Civil War Round Table for arranging this tour and providing this photo. Thanks also to Ricky Hollis for all that he has done. Of course I used maps, as you can see many of the folks are referring to them.

They provided a special gift at the end of the tour– a large mouse pad for me when I was presenting at a recent Harrisburg Civil War Round Table.

That’s not me presenting– its a photo of the mouse pad…really neat!

I have sent my Maps of the Peninsula/Seven Days to my publisher (Ted Savas) and am now working on the Maps of Chancellorsville. In the future, I hope to get to the two Shenandoah Valley Campaigns.

Despite my aching back (I will have back surgery in late November), I continue to give tours and visit round tables to give presentations. I was at the Western Pennsylvania Civil War Round Table a couple of days ago, and next month (November), Linda and I embark on a tour of Ohio round tables, including Cleveland, Mahoning Valley, and Quincy Gilmore, and will end the trip with a presentation at the Westlake Porter Public Library. Check out their websites to see the actual dates.

As always, I appreciate all of your support (and prayers for a speedy recovery from my back surgery).
